Tobias Jaeger has been involved in the media industry for a number of years. He is an entrepreneur who attended the Netherlands’ Maastricht University. Even as a student he had an entrepreneurial spirit and while going to school he established a company called Business Associates Europe. The idea of the company was to offer consulting services to other companies. The company paired consultants with industry experience to students who would carry out their research. The company ultimately developed several leading brands as clients.
After developing a company that taught people expert level poker tips, StrategosPoker, Tobias Jaeger became the Managing Director of Entrepreneur Academy. At this firm, Jaeger provided European and Middle Eastern entrepreneurs with a personality empowerment course. The courses were designed to help these entrepreneurs reach their full potential in both their professional and personal lives by understanding their own personalities and motivations.
It was in 2012 that Jaeger joined the media industry. His first opportunity in this field was developing “Thought for Food”, an initiative launched in Switzerland which wanted to show people how the food industry sought to feed the world using the latest techniques and technology. The project created a documentary that brought together the big players in the industry in the next generation of people who will play a key part in the production of food in the years to come.
Tobias Jaeger is now the Managing Partner of AXIOM Venture Capital. His company matches entrepreneurs to investors and vice versa. The goal is to connect the financial industry to the entertainment industry in order to develop profitable content that is entertaining and informative.
AXIOM Venture Capital developed out of what Jaeger and his business partners had noted in the entertainment industry. He noted that many of the companies in the industry wanted to set themselves up for the long haul rather than creating one-off projects. This creates a very different company than most production companies which handle just one property. Jaeger saw an opportunity in matching these long-haul companies with financial people who could bankroll their efforts to develop a broader company.

Whitney Wolfe is a titan in the world of dating apps. She was one of the people who was responsible for the creation of Tinder, a widely used and highly popular dating application in the world today.
After working as vice president of marketing at Tinder, Whitney Wolfe helped launch yet another dating application. It was called Bumble, and it was an app designed by a woman for a woman. Today, Bumble ranks among one of the most highly used and popular dating apps for both men and women.
Bumble is no pushover app with a niche audience. The New York Times reports that the app gets over 10 billion different swipes every month and generates more than 800 million matches each month. The matches at Bumble work in much the same way as they do in Tinder. Both parties must swipe each other for a match to form.
The big difference in Bumble from Tinder is that women initiate conversations. Men must wait for a women to start a conversation. A women can only start a conversation with a man that she shows interest in and that he shows interest back in her. The woman also has 24 hours after a match is generated to send a message, before that match is gone. Such an approach helps eliminate spam and abuse gotten by women on dating apps according to Whitney Wolfe, who is Bumble’s Founder.
Whitney Wolfe is now turning Bumble into more than just a dating app. She recently launched Bumble BFF. This is the Best Friend Finder version of Bumble, which helps people find friends on the dating app. Users swipe each other just like in the dating version, except that they are looking for friends. Bumble BFF works with geolocation technology. This means as you move, your matches will change based on your location.
Most establishes companies, if given the chance would probably follow the lead of Sweetgreen’s business model. The up-and-coming healthy food chain has rapidly grown and now has 40 locations. They are about a brand that stands for something and their customers can tell the difference. The company depends heavily on technology and 30% of all their transactions are made on a mobile app or through their website.

The trio have a few things in common and beside attending university together and taking an entrepreneurship class together, they have parents who are first-class immigrants. their parents have also all started their own businesses. The trio decide to start Sweetgreen when they realized that there just weren’t any healthy food options available to them in the Georgetown area. If Ru could give his 20-year old self some advise, he would tell himself to read more books. He admires Kevin Plank and how he has become successful with Under Armour. His favorite restaurant is Johnny Monis’ Little Serow because of the great food and service.
