About Doe Deere and Lime Crime

Doe Deer is the founder, CEO, and owner of the makeup company Lime Crime Makeup. She was born in Russia & raised in New York City, New York. Doe Deere started Lime Crime Makeup because she wanted to prove that makeup can be used a form of expression and freedom, and not just something that people use to cover up their flaws. In Doe Deere’s eyes, beauty isn’t defined by looks or nature. In Does Deere’s eyes, beauty is defined by whatever felt right in the moment. Doe Deere is a female entrepreneur who encourages and supports other female entrepreneurs, and even gives advice to women around the world on her Instagram page.

Lime Crime originally began in 2004 when Doe Deere registered an account online with eBay with the same name for her DIY fashion line. She modeled all of her own products and used colorful makeup to complete her look. She launched the official Lime Crime makeup line in October of 2008 after she realized that there was not a lot of bright-colored makeup on the market.

Lime Crime makeup was introduced to the market about two weeks before Halloween of 2008. In 2009, Lime Crime introduced a line of lipstick called Unicorn Lipsticks, which featured a big, sparkly unicorn on its packaging. In 2012, a line of liquid lipstick was introduced, called Velvetines, which caused liquid lipstick to become increasingly popular over time. Lime Crime was one of the first lipstick companies to focus on selling it’s products online. Lime Crime makeup is certified Vegan and cruelty-free.

Doe Deere states that inspiration is something she patiently waits for when bringing her ideas to life. Inspiration could sometimes take months to find, but once it is found, Doe states that she takes swift and decisive action. She gave Lime Crime it’s name because lime was her favorite color. Doe does not believe in bringing a new product to the shelves for the public unless she has tried it out herself first. She states that testing out her products first ensures the quality and authenticity of Lime Crime Products.
